Nose: Rich nose, tons of honey, sweet butter cream, orange peel, a touch of cinnamon, big cherry and pleasant blackberry and currant.

Taste: Moderate palate, a touch bitter and acrid, lots of tannin throughout with some blackberry, ginger, pepper and a bit of cinnamon.

Finish: Moderate finish, a prickle of ethanol and cinnamon here, toffee and blueberry, minerality and tobacco.

Overall: Overall, this is a very good expression although I don’t know that the barrel finishing is adding much here. It’s jammy, satisfying, easy drinking but that acrid note on the palate holds it back from pushing higher.

Thanks for reading!
