The Schtick: Frapin is a pretty neat joint for the most part – they’re vintners who produce their own grapes, wines, and spirits and they oversee production and aging of both. This release was aged for 27 years and was a market select by PM Spirits for the US.

Bottler: Frapin

Brand: Cognac Frapin

Selection: PM Spirits

ABV: 47.3% ABV

Age: 27 Years

Nose: Fruity and effervescent on the nose, loads of tobacco, date fruit, black tea, honey and figs. Rich, dry, enticing.

Taste: Rich on the palate. Nice combination of oak, sweet tobacco, dates, some blackberry, blueberry. Hint of pepper, lightly bitter. Good texture.

Finish: Long finish, dry and heavy on minerality, red grape, date fruit, big pepper and some minor plasticity.

Overall: Overall, a great showing from a great single cask. It’s a perfect moderate cognac – not too much diesel, not too much rancid, not too much fruit, not too much bitter oak. And, that makes it a pour that’s almost too easy to love pretty much all the time.

Thanks for reading!
