The Schtick: Distilled in 2001 and aged for 21 years, this cask #75 is distilled entirely from Folle Blance. It’s bottled at cask strength with no coloring or additives and without filtering. I’m a lover of Esperance usually, so I’m looking forward to getting into this one.

Review #2611 | Brandy Review #115

Distiller: Domaine D’Esperance

Bottler: Domaine D’Esperance

Brand: Domaine d’Esperance

Selection: None – General Release

ABV: 52% ABV

Age: 21 Years

Nose: Raspberry, lavender, big, effervescent, perfume-y on the nose. It’s fragrant, bright, packed with white grape, honey, a hint of rose water, some orange peel and more lavender. Extensively fragrant.

Taste: Moderate mouthfeel, lightly dry oak, sweet honey, a touch of pepper, ginger, orange peel, rose water, a touch of blackberry.

Finish: Long finish, floral and fun, light on the oak here while dialing up the fruit, fragrant character and touches of rose water, orange peel and date fruit.

Overall: Domaine D’Esperance for me is sometimes hit or miss for me but this cask is well executed and while pretty unique, totally satisfying.

Thanks for reading!
