On Wednesday Robb Report gave Booker’s bourbon fans a thrill in sharing the news that the Beam brand, honoring the legacy of the Noe family, is dropping a new release within the coming days. The bourbon is called “By The Pond,” and it pays homage to what spirits reporter Jonah Flicker refers to as one of the more “folksy” pastimes of the Noe family: fishing.
By The Pond pays homage to the pond in Booker Noe’s backyard. Noe would spend time fishing there when he wasn’t busy distilling for Jim Beam. The outlet reports that Booker’s By The Pond has a suggested retail price of $100. The 126.5-proof bourbon is seven years, one month and 20 days old.
“The first taste I put into my mouth was very nice and had a sweetness I enjoyed, so I took a second,” said Booker’s son, Fred Noe, according to a statement. “The second taste was nice and the finish complemented and completed the experience so well. I feel sure my dad would have enjoyed sipping the By the Pond batch sitting by his pond feeding his fish, waiting for them to grow so he could enjoy eating them with some great Booker’s Bourbon.”
As far as technical information goes, location is critical to the Booker’s releases. Why? The reason is that Booker’s bourbon features the same mashbill as other whiskeys, so location is key to determining the flavor profile of the whiskey.
This Booker’s release is the second to drop for the year of 2025. The first Booker’s paid tribute to Beam Chairman Barry Berish. Known as a larger-than-life figure, Berish made many contributions to the brand, according to the Noes. Berish passed in 2024.
Booker’s experimental sister label, Little Book, unveiled its latest release in late June, and it was called Little Book Chapter 9: None for Granted. The whiskey featured brown rice in the mashbill of the blend.
