Jameson announced on Thursday that the Irish Whiskey brand dropped a football-shaped flask to honor the first professional American football game set to take place on Irish soil. The kickoff will take place in Dublin on September 28.
The football flask is the size of a “regulation football,” according to the brand, and it can hold a 750 ml bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey. The flask and bottle of Jameson Irish Whiskey cost $109.99 before tax and shipping. The bundle will go on sale on September 25 at ReserveBar.
In addition to the festive, football-themed release, Jameson also plans to host some viewing parties in Minneapolis, Minnesota in partnership with the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are one of the first teams to compete in Ireland. The brand additionally intends to provide American football-themed swag to the first 100 people who visit Jameson’s distillery during the game.
Complex, the media company, is also partnering with Jameson in offering a limited-release football capsule collection. The company will release football-themed cocktails and light bites for the event. The brand additionally intends to take over ESPN for a commercial on SportsCenter. Jameson will be the first whiskey brand ever to be promoted during a live commercial on the show.
“Jameson has always stood shoulder to shoulder with the fans, and that’s why we are excited to declare ourselves the ‘Unofficial Whiskey for Football Fans’ this season and to finally celebrate American football in Dublin,'” said Senior Brand Director for Jameson at Pernod Ricard Valeria Catterini in a statement. “After two years, we can’t wait for fans to experience Irish hospitality firsthand as we toast to the game that the fans helped make happen.”
Jameson is a brand under the stewardship of Irish Distillers. The conglomerate, like many spirits brands, is facing a rocky 2025. In March, Irish Distillers shared that it would temporarily halt production in early April.
