The Schtick: Distilled in 1995 and bottled in October of 2016, this single cask of GlenDronach was aged in a PX Sherry Puncheon number 3248 and bottled specially for the UK Market. These are typically quite decadent sherry bombs, so I am looking forward to this release. These are bottled at cask strength.

Review #2592 | Scotch Review #958

Distiller: GlenDronach

Bottler: GlenDronach

Brand: GlenDronach

Selection:

ABV: 51.8% ABV

Age: 21 Years

Nose: Rich figs, raisin bread, honey, toffee, maple, decadent baking spice and anise, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gobs of sweetness and figs. Stewed fruits.

Taste: Rich palate. Prickle of ethanol. Toffee, brown butter. Figs and stewed fruits. Pepper, hint of oak and buttered. Gorgeous brown sugar and nutmeg. Rich and tobacco driven.

Finish: Long finish, spicy and opulent. Black pepper, stewed fruits, caramels, coffee, maple, brown butter, fig bread, raisins, fudge and creme brulee.

Overall: Decadent as always but with plenty of complexity and a few unexpected adventures. Far from the greatest of GlenDronachs but also hardly slouching either.

Thanks for reading!
