Cask Master’s Range by The Glenlivet

The Whiskey Wash reported on Oct. 27 that The Glenlivet was launching a collection exclusively geared towards Global Travel Retail, the brand’s Caskmasker’s Collection. The lineup includes a 14, 16, and 19-year-old single malt.
This series marks a first for Glenlivet, in that it uses Scottish Oak in the finishing process. Each whisky spends time maturing in different barrels, however, and Glenlivet uses a mixture of American and European oak for the series.
The collection’s youngest expression features baked orchard fruit and citrus flavors. The 16-year-old expression possesses dark fruit qualities, with creamy toffee. The final release offers up flavors that appear to be a mix of the two, and the brand cites black currants, spice, and stewed apples.
The Last Call by Silverbelly Whiskey

Fred Minnick reported on Oct. 29 that country music icon Alan Jackson unveiled the latest Last Call release in honor of Jackson’s birthday. The release is allocated, and hosts a suggested price of $75. It clocks in at 101.7 proof — a numerical ode to Jackson’s October 17th birthday.
Just 1,958 bottles exist — another easter egg representing the year Jackson was born — and they are available in TN, WI, OK, MI, TX and FL. According to Fred Minnick, Jackson hand-selects each offering.
This release coincides with two other recent releases from Silverbelly. One of which is Silverbelly’s first 375ml offering, honoring Alan’s hit “Little Bitty,” and another honors Alan’s 1991 hit “Don’t Rock the Jukebox.”
The Caoineag “The Weeping Spirit” by The Whiskey Exchange

The Spirits Business reported on Oct. 29 that The Whisky Exchange developed a spookily themed release, Caoineag — The Weeping Spirit. The whisky is a 6 year old Ben Nevis single malt, and it is set to launch through The Whisky Exchange on Halloween.
The whisky takes its name from a female spirit in Scottish folklore, known as the Highland banshee or “the weeper.” These spirits are omens, warning those who come across them that sorrow is to come.
According to The Whisky Exchange’s Buying Director Dawn Davies, the whisk tastes “a little ‘dirty'” but in a good way. It’s a whisky with a “sense of drama” that clocks in at 55% ABV. The Caoineag hosts a suggested price of $79.25.
Henry Deringer American Single Malt by The World Whiskey Society

Fred Minnick reported on the release of this American Single Malt from the World Whiskey Society on Oct. 27. The whiskey is inspired by Henry Deringer, the man who invented the pocket pistol.
The American Single Malt features an 8-year age statement and is priced at $99.99. Since we’ve checked the brand’s website, just 39 bottles are available for sale. The World Whiskey Society shares that this American Single Malt is full of barley, wildflower honey, and apricot. On the palate, there is stone fruit, interlaced with toffee and caramel. Stone fruit appears to be the theme of this release, and it carries on throughout the finish.
