Sazerac Barrel Select

The Sazerac Barrel Select program is offering bourbon aficionados the opportunity to win a barrel of Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel Bourbon as part of a charity sweepstakes for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Each $100 donation will serve as an entry to win the raffle.

The sweepstakes will take place from 8 AM ET on September 8 through 11:59 PM on September 30. The winner will be drawn and notified by a phone call on October 6, 2025. Those interested in registering can visit Sazerac’s website at the link here.

Elmer T. Lee was a major figure within the bourbon industry, and his notable contributions include creating Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon and the Sazerac Barrel Select Program. According to Sazerac’s Barrel Select General Manager Diego Bianchi, the last barrel of Elmer T. Lee made available to the public took place a decade ago, making this a particularly special opportunity.

The bourbon brand shares that this balanced whiskey features a bouquet loaded with clove and old leather aromas. The pour straddles the line of fruit and spice, and a gentle spiciness persists throughout the finish.

The lucky winner will get a one-night stay at Buffalo Trace’s Stagg Lodge, with a VIP tour and private catered lunch at the distillery, with up to seven guests. The winner will additionally get to meet Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley, who was mentored by Elmer when he was hired by the distillery in 1995. Wheatley will guide the private barrel selection experience. The winner additionally receives an $18,000 cash prize.

“I was fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with Elmer both at work and away from work, often listening to his many stories about the industry,” Wheatley said in a statement. “It was a privilege to work with Elmer, and I understood that when I was with him. I’m proud to call Elmer a friend, mentor and trusted advisor, and I’m honored to continue sharing his legacy through this charity sweepstakes program.”

Sazerac Barrel Select shared that in 2024, the charity sweepstake’s auction of a barrel of Blanton’s Gold raised approximately $1 million for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
