Lost Lantern

Breaking Bourbon reported on Thursday that independent bottler Lost Lantern is launching a whiskey membership club that costs $90 a month. Subscribers will receive a different bottle each month, and this year’s offerings are from brands Lost Lantern has never partnered with before.

“Our goal with the Discovery Club is to share our journey of exploration with whiskey enthusiasts,” Lost Lantern Co-Founder and Head of Whiskey Sourcing Adam Polonski said in a statement. “I visit every distillery we work with, and I’m constantly discovering exceptional whiskies from innovative distilleries all across the country. The Discovery Club is our way of sharing these whiskies and these stories directly with passionate whiskey drinkers.”

Lost Lantern fans interested in signing up can visit the company’s website. Membership benefits include a different bottle from an emerging whiskey distillery each month, a signup bottle with purchase, member-exclusive releases, invitations to events at Lost Lantern’s distillery, virtual tastings, early access to Lost Lantern’s latest releases and other perks.

The initial membership cap is limited to 180 people, and flexibility will be granted to folks who do decide to sign up. Prospective members can delay shipments or skip certain months if they choose to.

The independent bottler shared that the monthly releases included in the membership club will be from distilleries the brand has never worked with, and half of the whiskeys on this year’s slate will be bourbons.

How Lost Lantern is ‘Shining a Light’ on Under-The-Radar Brands

Nora Ganley-Roper and Adam Polonski run the operations over at Lost Lantern. The brand refers to itself as an “independent bottler that talks to whiskey nerds.”

Both Roper and Polonski like to track down under-the-radar whiskey brands and share their stories with the world. The brand focuses on “shining a light” on smaller producers and transparency. Typically, the brand releases its whiskeys as blends or single-cask offerings.

The brand partners with a variety of up-and-coming distilleries like Corbin Cash, Cedar Ridge, Few Spirits, Frey Ranch, J. Rieger & Co, High Wire, Middle West Spirits, Starlight Distillery and Still Austin.
