Penelope Bourbon announced on Tuesday the release of a ready-to-drink Peach Old Fashioned, housed in a 750 ml container. According to the brand, the 80-proof cocktail has a minimum suggested retail price of $29.99. It is the first release within Penelope Bourbon’s ready-to-drink portfolio.
The Luxco-owned bourbon brand shared in a news release that Penelope’s Old Fashioned is blended with a mixture of the brand’s bourbon and rye whiskey, peach bitters and 100% pure maple syrup.
“Old Fashioneds are one of our personal favorite cocktails to drink, especially the peach old fashioned variation,” Penelope Bourbon Founder and Master Blender Danny Polise said in a statement. “So when we set out to create a ready-to-pour cocktail, it was clear where to begin. Most importantly, we wanted to create a cocktail with the same great taste as if it were made from scratch in our home or at a great bar. Teaming up with Nashville, Tennessee cocktail creator Tim Beckner, we created a recipe layered with flavor using quality ingredients you’d find behind any great bar. It’s been a fun new direction for us, and we’re just getting started.”
The bourbon brand shares that Peach Old Fashioned is chock full of aromas of vanilla and dark cherry, with hints of orchard fruit and orange peel. The palate contains decadent, creamy vanilla, peaches, and figs. The cocktail finishes with caramel syrup and crystalized, sugar-dusted ginger.
“Peach Old Fashioned is our first leap into the ready-to-pour category and we think folks will really enjoy it,” Penelope Bourbon Founder and Vice President of Strategy for MGP Ingredients Michael Paladini said in a statement. “We handpicked the bourbon and rye we used, along with the premium ingredients, to craft a modern take on an iconic classic. We think this will be a go-to for anyone looking for a delicious old fashioned at a great price.”
In September, Penelope unveiled its Estate Collection, which consisted of three releases: Founder’s Reserve, Private Select and Single Barrel. We were particularly partial to the Founder’s Reserve Wheat Whiskey, and it earned an 8 on the T8ke scale — an impressive feat indeed.
