The Schtick: The fourth release of the incredibly popular Abraham Bowman Cask Strength bourbon, this is a pleasure to try although a bit imposing due to a completely ridiculous proof. This years release was once again done by lottery as demand well outpaces supply and the three releaes befor this one have garnered exptremely high marks from myself. Lets dive in.

Review #2584 | Bourbon Review #1118
Distiller: Bowman
Bottler: Bowman
Brand: Abraham Bowman
Selection: None
ABV: 69.85% ABV
Age: 10 Years
Nose: Big, fat, aggressive and brutish; tons of caramel, honey, marshmallow, luxardo cherries, cocoa and espresso assault the nose, albeit in a positive sort of barnstorming. There’s so much going on!
Taste: Rich on the palate, peppy and punchy without being overbearing. Luxardo cherry, orange peel, vanilla bean, toffee, black tea, butter cream, maple and barrel char pepper your taste buds. Loads going on. Lovely.
Finish: Long finish. The heat is gentle here, instead layering on tons of cocoa, nougat, a touch of caramel, brown butter, smores, toffee and burnt sugar and barrel char.
Overall: Whew, this is no exercise in meek restraint but instead a masterclass in big bold flavors that don’t blow your head off…but come close. Love it.
