Review #2603 | Bourbon Review #1127
Distiller: Wild Turkey
Bottler: Wild Turkey
Brand: Wild Turkey
Selection: None – General LTO Release
ABV: 59% ABV
Age: NAS
Nose: Rich sweet oak, pralines, toffee, brown butter, orange peel and light tobacco. It’s full of vanilla, cinnamon, pepper, toffee and baking spice. Vibrantly bourbon with tons of character on the nose.
Taste: Moderate palate, pleasant and rich. Faint ethanol for the proof but pleasant and packed with pepper, candied ginger, pralines, toffee, brown butter, orange peel, a touch of ango, pipe tobacco and caramelized sugars. It’s more decadent and spicy than WT usually presents but it’s lovely.
Finish: Long finish. loaded with vanilla, cocoa, toffee and creme brûlée and nougat. Spicy and spritely, loads of fruit and delightfully complex.
Overall: It’s the bourbon equivalent of last years rye release. Bold, structured, complex and expertly blended. WT MK this year crushes and does a great job making a statement.
