6- and 12-Year Old Bourbon by Bradshaw Bourbon

The Whiskey Wash reported on Jan. 30 that former Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Terry Bradshaw is in the process of dropping a 6- and 12-year-old expression as a part of his bourbon line: Bradshaw Bourbon. The 12-year-old whiskey is a limited release, and the six-year-old expression was distilled at none other than Green River.

The two expressions accompany Bradshaw Bourbon’s 5-Year Bourbon. According to The Whiskey Wash, the 12-year-old bourbon is sourced from fewer than 25 barrels and has a suggested price of $249.99. The 6-year-old bourbon has a suggested price of $64.99.

Bradshaw Bourbon’s 6-year-old release is bold, with “energy and power,” according to Terry Bradshaw. Its older sibling is more “rich” and “layered.” Tasting notes for the 6-year-old bourbon share rich vanilla and baking spices. The 12-year-old expression has layers of campfire and oak.

17 Year Old Whisky by The Dalmore

The Whiskey Wash reported Jan. 28 that Dalmore added a 17-year-old scotch whisky to its core program. Like its sister expressions, Dalmore’s extended age release spent time finishing in a selection of sherry casks from González Byass.

The outlet reported that the juice from the Highland distillery spent an initial period maturing in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in three different sherry casks: Amoroso, rare Apostoles, and Matusalem Oloroso.

Clocking in at 42% ABV, the whisky possesses citrus and orchard fruit aromas, interlaced with wood smoke and spices. The palate offers up toffee, orange marmalade and sweet berry flavors, which segue into a finish of dark chocolate orange, dried fruit and cinnamon.

Lunar New Year Limited Edition Whiskies by Dewar’s

Dewar’s is adding its Lunar New Year release to the vast selection of whiskies that have dropped for the past few weeks, celebrating the Year of the Horse.

The Whiskey Wash announced on Jan. 29 that Dewar’s was dropping Lunar New Year-themed packaging for its 20, 26 and 30-year-old expressions.

The design features a horse with a flowing mane and tale that devolve into a cascade of flames, paying homage to the fact that 2026 is the year of the fire horse, according to the Chinese zodiac. These limited edition releases are set to be available at over 25 global travel retailers in airports like London’s Heathrow and Dubai Duty Free.

Bottled in Bond Bourbon by Garrison Brothers

Fred Minnick reported that Texas whiskey brand, Garrison Brothers, hit a major milestone on Jan. 27. The brand dropped its first Bottled In Bond Bourbon. The whiskey hosts a 6-year age statement, clocks in at 100 proof, and the team distilled it from exclusively Texas-grown grains.

The team cut the whiskey down to proof from Texas Hill Country rainwater. Garrison Brothers shared that this whiskey is the 10th bourbon in its portfolio, and it experienced open-air fermentations and six years aging in the Texas Hill Country heat.

Garrison Brothers intends to unleash 2,000 bottles of its Bottled in Bond whiskey, and the juice is available to anybody who visits the distillery on a first-come, first-served basis in February. This whiskey was distilled in Fall 2019 and hosts a suggested price of $99.99.

Vino de Naranja by TX Whiskey

Orange wine aficionados, listen up. Fort Worth reported on Jan. 29 that TX Whiskey dropped a new bourbon aged in Spanish orange wine casks. The release is the 15th installment within its Experimental Series.

The juice is a blend of five-year-old TX Straight Bourbon Rye Whiskey that spent three years finishing in orange wine casks from Spain. Just 1,500 bottles in 375 ml format are going to hit the shelves for the cost of $39.99, and each customer has an 8 bottle limit for a 30-day period.

According to the outlet, the dram possesses aromas of orange marmalade, smoke, and cherry cordial. The palate offers up a cream soda, vanilla and spiced honey experience, which segues throughout the finish. The orange wine cask finish imbues the liquid with a “jammy” quality.
