Nose: Diesel-y fruits, lemon curd, honey, apples and chamomille pops on the nose. It’s classic Bowmore and the vibe you love from the brand in bourbon casks. Hint of petrol smoke, touch of salinity and mossy peat. Lovely acidity and brightness on the nose.
Taste: Punchy and bright, medicinal and plastic-y peat, classic to the bowmore profile (for me). Hint of fungal peat that’s joined by clovery honey, butterscotch, creamy french vanilla and gobs of buttery pastry.
Finish: Long finish, peat drives here with plentiful richness and ash, slate, minerality, citrus and fresh stone fruits.
Overall: Overall, quite a lovely Bowmore. I wish the plasticity was toned down a hair, but it’s vivid and bright and peaty all the same and quite lovely.
Thanks for reading!
