Distiller: Glenburgie
Bottler: La Maison Du Whisky
Brand: La Maison du Whisky
Selection: None – General Release
ABV: 58% ABV
Age: 28 Years
Nose: Apples, pears, honey, peaches, mango, honeysuckle and vanilla. Vivid and bright. Bit of waxy fruit on the nose as well, complex and layered.
Taste: Rich on the palate. The fruits are all waxy here: apples, peaches, pears and mango primarily with waxy, mineral-y character. Lovely, balanced, touch of pepper. Little hint of ginger. Wood character is well integrated, tannis are soft and balanced. Back palate is full of waxy fruits. Well composed.
Finish: Long finish. Full of pepper, waxed fruits, apple and a hint of banana, toffee, butterscotch, pears and apples. Complex.
Overall: This is simply gorgeous. Glenburgie is under-represented in my writing and I regret it with pours like these. Striking composure, lovely complexity, the waxed fruits dynamic is a favorite of mine, which doesn’t surprise me given my love of Clynelish. Great release here.
Thanks for reading!
