Heaven Hill announced on Tuesday that the brand launched the second iteration of its grain-to-glass bourbon. To celebrate its rapidly approaching 90th Anniversary, the storied bourbon brand aims to launch a new initiative to help farms navigate hardships.
The program is called Family Farms First, and it involves a partnership with Farm Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to helping families working in American agriculture.
Heaven Hill shares that Farm Rescue offers services like free harvesting and planting, coupled with livestock feeding services. Since its inception in 2005, the organization offered assistance to over 1,000 family farms.
“Farm Rescue’s mission is to keep family farms in tact during times of crisis,” Founder and President of Farm Rescue Bill Gross said in a statement. “Family farms, which make up 97% of US farms, are vital to sustaining our communities and our future. Our collaboration with Heaven Hill Grain to Glass will bolster our ability to provide essential support to more farm families, ensuring they can continue their operations and sustain their livelihoods.”
The partnership seems to be in alignment with Heaven Hill’s Grain to Glass series. The brand behind whiskeys like Larceny and Elijah Craig shares that the whiskeys within the series showcase unique corn varietals that Heaven Hill picks.
This year’s release features a mashbill made from the corn varietal Beck’s 6225. The corn grew at Peterson Farms in Nelson County, Kentucky.
The mashbill for the 2025 Heaven Hill Grain to Glass Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey features a mixture of 52% corn, 35% rye and 13% malted barley. The bourbon clocks in at 105 proof, which marks a significant departure from the original 125-proof expression.
“In 2017, we embarked on a journey to create a one-of-a-kind Grain to Glass Whiskey by partnering with family-owned seed companies and farms,” Executive Chairman of Heaven Hill Brands Max Shapira said in a statement. “These innovative mash bills feature hand-selected, unique grain varieties grown locally by Kentucky family farms. Heaven Hill Grain to Glass is a testament to the important legacy of family farmers, who are the lifeblood of our country.”
